League of Legends: Trials of the Poro (new champion)

So, big news for LoL fans! A new champion named Braum will be introduced in a near future, and how did Rito let us know about him? With a cute video with a poro. The champion? Well, he’s as manliest as they get.

Apparently, he will be a support champion, and we’re not saying that he’s Angus, but we’re also not saying that he’s not.

YSK that Google changed it’s ToS again

A quick note, Google change the ToS a few days ago with a new paragraph:

Our automated systems analyze your content (including emails) to provide you personally relevant product features, such as customized search results, tailored advertising, and spam and malware detection. This analysis occurs as the content is sent, received, and when it is stored.

Meaning that Google is now reading (even more) your emails. According to them, this is to provide relevant ads and prevent malware. Even though the latter sounds nice, the first one just sound annoying.

Anyway, beware of the information that you send via email... We’re no longer safe.

Twitter’s to implement web notifications

It’s been a while since Twitter implemented something actually useful to it’s service - no, changing the design or adding promoted tweets don’t count as useful stuff -, and this time is Web Notifications, not Desktop Notifications, the difference is that these will only work on Twitter’s website; if you’re browsing another site, you won’t get a notification.

To give you an idea, it’s like Facebook notifications, when you have a new comment or message a little notification will popup to the bottom-right of the page... like that.

Chrome’s New Translate Button

As you know, Chrome’s has a perma-option to translate sites, it used to be a bar, but now it’s a button on the address bar.

Disable Chrome’s SSL Certificate errors

Although is not something very known, many websites, services, and apps require an SSL connection to work properly and safe as possible. The thing is, for extensions or apps within Chrome that require a constant connection to a site with an untrusted certificated won’t connect because Chrome blocks these kind of site by default; you need to go into the site and click “Proceed anyway” for the app to work.

The workaround is with a flag:

--ignore-certificate-errors

That way, each time Chrome asks a site for it’s certificate, it won’t matter if is trusted or not, everything will be possible!

Backup League of Legends items set

Do you know what’s annoying? Playing in someone else’s PC and not finding your items set when you start your game. Know how to solve it? I do. Sadly, it’s not as pretty as you think.

First, go to:

\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_air_client\releases\LatestRelease\deploy\preferences

You’ll find a file named SummonerName.Properties.

All you have to do is backup that file and move it to the PC you’re going to play or wherever you want to move it. That way, you’ll never lose your items set, which, I tell you, are useful as fuck.

Page Monitor: Get a notification when a page updates

A few days ago I was looking for a service that notified me in real time when a site updated... it was impossible. Most sites ask for payments, and some others only check daily, and I need to be notifies immediately. And just by coincidence, I found Page Monitor.

This is a Chrome extension that checks if a website has any changes in real-time... or at least close to that. You can check every 2 days, or every 5 seconds, which is awesome! And every time a change occurs, you’ll get a notification up to 5 seconds late. Although many don’t have this kind of need, still is something very useful that all should know about.

It also keeps a history of the sites that have updated, so in case you weren’t in your PC or you shut down chrome, you’ll still be able to see what updated when.

XKCD April’s Fool: Lorenz

Today XKCD made an awesome comic, as always, and it’s all “make your own adventure”, with the alt text “Every choice, no matter how small, begins a new story”.

It’s as simple as choosing the text you want the character to say and just keep selecting until you’re bored. There are thousands of combinations, and you can even add your own text, of course, this will be approved before appearing in the site.

This is awesome, and since all the text is user-created, each new square will be a new surprise.

Warlords of Draenor: 6.0 Patch Note Preview

So, today I found that Blizzard released the official patch notes for WoW: WoD 6.0. The patch notes are related to the first changes users will experience when entering the game, such as class changes, items, quests, pet battles, and more.

Here are some that you should consider more relevant:

General:

• To prevent confusion over whether you’re playing a card game or returning to town, the Hearthstone will now be called a Homerock.
• To encourage exploration of the world all Flightmasters are now Walkmasters.
• Walkmasters provide a guided tour of the world, giving out small bits of trivia for the area you’re in as they walk alongside you to your destination. If they walk slower than you’d like, just use your Homerock.

• Daytime in the world of Azeroth is now 50% brighter, and comparatively nighttime will now appear darker.
• Dogecoin is now accepted as a form of payment, but no one really knows how it works.

Classes:

Death Knight

• Threat of Thassarian tooltip changed to explain who the hell Thassarian is.
• Using Death Grip on something larger than your character will cause you to be pulled toward the creature instead of the creature being pulled toward you. Gnomes should just probably not be Death Knights.
