How to create a custom Timeline in Tweetdeck

TweetDeck is by far my favorite Twitter client, and recently added a new feature called Custom Timeline. What this does is create a - what I consider - list of favorite or saved tweets, since it won’t self-update nor add tweets automatically. Anyway, here’s how to create one.

Open TweetDeck on Chrome, or go to TweetDecks’ website. In there, click the icon at the bottom-left corner.

A new Window will popup, click on “Create Custom TimeLine”.

A new column will appear, to rename it, click on the name above, change it, and hit enter.

Now, to add tweets to it, there are two ways to do it. The first one is to drag tweets using the arrows at the bottom of each tweet.

Add tweets to the custom timeline.

You can also add tweets by clicking into the tweet options and going to “Add to custom timeline”. Proceed to select to which timeline the tweet is going to be added.

Now, to delete the tweets. At the end of each tweet added there will be a big X, click it.

And when you’re bored of that TL or you don’t need it anymore, go to the Custom TimeLine icon at the bottom-left, click the TL you want delete it and click Delete.

Delete a custom timeline.

You can also share your timeline on Twitter and even embed it on a website. But that’s something for another post.
